The Sheriff's Office had been conducting an on-going investigation of Cater linking him to a child molestation case involving a 12 year old girl in Nipomo in 2013. As a result of his arrest and upon further investigation, Cater now faces 10 additional charges of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14 years old. Cater was also arrested for violating his probation for an unrelated domestic violence incident.
Investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying any other potential victims in this case by calling the Sheriff's Office at 781-4500.
