A 21 year old Nipomo man was taken into custody by South Station patrol deputies after a report of a person loitering with small children in the playground area near Dana Elementary School in Nipomo.
An alert off duty Cal Fire employee became suspicious when he saw the man allegedly sliding down the slide and speaking with female juveniles. The man was wearing a back pack with a teddy bear motif.
Deputies checked the area and later located a person matching the description at Tefft and Magenta. Witnesses confirmed it was the man they saw in the playground area.
A records check in the field determined the man was on probation for a previous similar offense with a condition not to associate with children
The man was taken into custody and booked into San Luis Obispo county jail on a charge of annoying children under 18 years of age.
